Dog Profile
Joany is a beautiful wire haired Podenco mix. She was found chained up on a motorway, malnourished and in need of medical attention. She was so scared and wouldn’t come near anyone. It’s heartbreaking to think about the pain and suffering she must have experienced, both physically and emotionally. Despite the past, she has shown incredible strength and trust. Joany has been in her current foster home with our wonderful volunteer Anne for a while now. She initially needed special care and attention due to a wound under her arm. She was joined by Lily another of our dogs in May this year. It has been wonderful to see them together with their foster mummy Anne and amazing to see how much they have improved since they have been together. They have formed an incredible bond and are now the best of friends. They are proof that with a little love and companionship, even the most broken hearts can heal. We would love to find a special home for them where they can live out their days happily together. Let us tell you a little more about Joany Joany is the wiser one but is still timid and nervous in certain situations. She has taken on the role of big sister to Lily, encouraging her to open up, relax, and become more playful, as well as helping her build her trust. Lily has brought out a playful side in Joany and has put a spring back in her stride. Joany has such a sweet and loving temperament. She gets along so well with other dogs which has helped her gain confidence. She is lead trained and she enjoys her walks with Lily, providing the environment isn’t too noisy and overwhelming. Joany loves cuddles and is house trained and can be left at home alone for a few hours. This shows the importance of rescue and rehabilitation efforts for animals who have suffered abuse and neglect, with care and support, dogs like Joany and Lily can overcome their past traumas and learn to trust and love again. Are you that special person who can give Joany or both Joany and Lily a permanent home, who can continue to ease them into the lifestyle they deserve, or perhaps you know someone who can?
