Beautiful Betsy came into our care after being found as a stray. Despite whatever life had thrown at her before, she arrived as a friendly, affectionate girl who enjoys both human company and the companionship of other dogs.

Sadly, Betsy’s time with us has not been without heartache. Shortly after arriving, she gave birth prematurely to three puppies. Tragically, two of the puppies did not survive. Her surviving little girl is being lovingly hand-reared by one of our dedicated volunteers.

As you can imagine, this has been a difficult and confusing time for Betsy. She spent days searching for her babies, not understanding where they had gone. It has been heartbreaking to watch such a devoted young mum trying to make sense of her loss.

Thankfully, our wonderful Kennel Manager has taken Betsy into his home, where she is receiving the extra love, comfort and reassurance she needs while she heals both physically and emotionally.

Betsy is a kind, gentle soul who deserves a family willing to give her the happy ending she has been waiting for. She is sociable, loving and enjoys being around people and other dogs.

As a young English Pointer, Betsy is an active girl who will need a secure garden and a family who can provide the exercise, stimulation and adventures that this intelligent breed enjoys. In return, she will make a loyal and devoted companion.

Before leaving our care, Betsy will be fully spayed and ready to begin the next chapter of her life. After all she has been through, we would love nothing more than to see Betsy leave her sadness behind and finally discover what it feels like to be somebody’s treasured family dog.
