Handsome Zack came into our care as a young puppy alongside a group of other dogs who had been trying to survive near a busy road. Life had already taught Zack some harsh lessons, and he had witnessed things that no young dog should ever have to experience, including seeing some of the other dogs lose their lives.
Of all the dogs that came in together, Zack was by far the shyest. One by one, his friends found loving homes and left to start their new lives. Today, Zack is the only one still waiting.
It breaks our hearts because beneath his worries is one of the gentlest, sweetest souls you could ever meet.
Zack absolutely loves other dogs and takes great comfort from their company. He is sociable, friendly and relaxed around them, and for this reason, we feel he would benefit enormously from living with another confident dog who could help show him that the world is not such a scary place.
People are a little different for Zack. He is still nervous around those he does not know and needs time and patience to build trust. However, once he feels safe with you, his true personality begins to shine through. Those who know him well see a loving, affectionate and incredibly kind boy who simply needs someone willing to see beyond his fears.
Kennel life is particularly difficult for sensitive dogs like Zack. The noise, activity and constant change make it hard for him to fully relax and show people just how much potential he has. We truly believe that in the right home, with patient and understanding people, Zack would blossom into an amazing companion.
He is looking for a quiet adult home where life is calm and predictable, ideally with another friendly dog for company. More than anything, Zack needs someone willing to let him move at his own pace and discover that he is finally safe.
It is so sad to see such a gentle and loving boy still carrying the weight of his past when all he wants is to feel secure and loved.
